Application — How to Make a Great First Impression

CV:
Your CV is our first impression of you, so make sure it is clear and well structured. Show us who you are and what you have achieved so far! An appealing layout can help to make your resume organized and easy to understand.

Important points for your CV:

  • Contact details: Your full address, email address, and telephone number (cell and landline) are important so that we can reach you at any time.
  • Spelling & structure: Make sure that your resume is error-free and well organised.
  • Photo: A photo is not absolutely necessary—your application will be valued just as much without a photo as with one.
  • Compile application documents: Combine all relevant documents (CV, certificates, supporting documents) in a single PDF file. If you don't know how to combine several files into one PDF, there are numerous free tools on the Internet that can help you.
  • Important documents: If you have certain documents, such as a work and residence permit or a disabled person's pass, please enclose them.
  • References: References are not mandatory for us, but if you have any, feel free to attach them. However, the CV is the most important document for us.
  • Cover letter: A cover letter is only required if you are applying for an apprenticeship at NOSTA. For other positions, it is sufficient if you concentrate on your CV and other documents.

Preparing for the Interview at NOSTA
— How to Impress us in the Interview

Your appearance:

A friendly and well-groomed appearance is important to us. Your clothing does not have to be formal, but please avoid casual clothing such as sweatpants. A clean, professional look shows us that you are taking the appointment seriously and respect us.

Preparation is key:

Find out in advance about NOSTA and the position you are applying for. The better informed you are, the more confident you will be in the interview.

Your CV as a basis for the interview:

Be ready to talk us through your CV. Tell us about your previous professional experience, your strengths, and the areas in which you would like to grow. It is also helpful if you mention challenges that you have overcome and where you would like to continue to improve.

Your reasons for applying:

  • Tell us why you have applied to NOSTA and what particularly interests you about the position and our company.

Your expectations of us as an employer:

  • Think about what you expect from us as an employer. What is important to you at work? What values and working conditions are decisive for you?

Dos – What you Should Consider

Be open to new challenges and willing to familiarize yourself with different areas of responsibility. Let us know that you are interested and would like to develop further.

Be authentic in your answers. We want to get to know you as a person, not as an idealized version of your CV. Honest communication is important to us!

Find out about NOSTA in advance. Visit our website and find out about the latest developments and projects, and our company. This shows us that you are really interested in the position.

Take the opportunity to ask us questions. This shows that you are interested and prepared. Ask about the next steps in the application process or about the corporate culture— this makes a positive impression.

Make sure you have a friendly and well-groomed appearance. Your clothes should be tidy and appropriate so that you make a positive first impression.

Make sure that your CV is clearly structured. A well-structured CV helps us to find the relevant information quickly.

Don'ts - What you Should Avoid

Even if you feel comfortable in casual clothes, it is important that you choose appropriate clothing for a job interview. Sweatpants or leisure wear do not belong in the job interview.

A friendly and respectful demeanor is crucial. Unfriendly behavior, rude comments, or negative body language make a bad impression.

Showing up to the interview unprepared can give the impression that you are not really interested. Even without in-depth specialist knowledge, it is important that you ask questions about the job, the company, or the team.

Avoid presenting false information in your CV or in the interview. We look for authentic and honest applications, and untruths are quickly noticed.

Be on time for the interview! Lateness makes a bad impression and can affect the entire conversation. Allow enough time to arrive punctually.
