Logistics simulation game strengthens our apprentices
Six rounds and the end result is shared success: what sounds like a major sporting event is actually an exciting logistics simulation game for our apprentices. For three days, a total of 15 trainees from different areas of the company became diverse teams that worked together to lead fictional companies to success.
The simulation game takes place annually for trainees in their second year of training and brings them together in our InnoLab. "In addition to new knowledge, we also promote networking among our apprentices," explains Alischa Reitz, who organizes the simulation game as part of NOSTA's "Future Apprentice" training programme. This means that the simulation players spend three days out of their normal working day and step into the role of a management team.
A key topic this year: customer centricity. "At NOSTA Group, our customers are always at the center of everything we do. This central value is therefore also important for our apprentices," reports Alischa Reitz. This focus on customers was sharpened in the simulation game through tasks on market research and marketing.
At the same time, the classic topics that are important for a company were addressed as well: How do we organize effective sales? What is the focus of research and development? What do we need to keep in mind for successful procurement? The practical exercises were completed by regular feedback rounds in which experienced colleagues also gave their input.
After three intensive days, the simulation game was over. According to Alischa Reitz, the organization team was satisfied with the results presented: "Each team gained important insights that will certainly be used in their future day-to-day work. And all the trainee companies developed positively during the simulation." A good sign. Not only for NOSTA Group, but also for the future of our apprentices.
